Neurological Disorders

These fall into two categories:

1.Those associated with other organs of the body (tumors, infections, hemorrhages, infarctions, trauma, poisoning, etc.) that are still prevalent in developed countries, but pose particular challenges in poor or developing countries.

2.Those associated only with nervous system tissue (neurodegenerative diseases, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, brain malformations, migraines, etc.) and that constitute a true socio-economic tragedy in any country owing to their elevated incidence in infants (often with debilitating and sometimes fatal consequences) and in the elderly (increasingly prevalent due to increased life expectancy).
